Oranda Therapeutics Limited (“Oranda”) is a rare-disease pharmaceutical company focused on improving patient access to affordable rare-disease medicines. The UK entity operates as an affiliate of Oranda’s Irish parent company and has been established to support future UK market activity, including NHS procurement.
Whilst the UK entity was incorporated in January 2024, operational activity remained limited during the company’s development phase as the wider business secured investment, established its organisational structure and prepared for commercial launch. Accordingly, 2026 has been selected as the first meaningful operational baseline year for carbon reporting purposes.
As a newly established UK affiliate with limited direct operational activity, a predominantly remote-working model, and no directly controlled UK premises, vehicles, or manufacturing facilities, this inaugural Carbon Reduction Plan has been prepared using a proportionate approach. Where actual activity data is not yet available, reasonable assumptions have been applied and clearly documented.
The purpose of this Carbon Reduction Plan is to support NHS procurement requirements, demonstrate Oranda’s commitment to achieving Net Zero greenhouse gas emissions by 2050, and establish a practical framework for measuring, managing and reducing emissions as the organisation grows. As operational activity increases and data collection processes mature, future Carbon Reduction Plans will be based on annual reporting using actual organisational data. This report covers UK operations only.
Baseline emissions
Baseline emissions are a record of greenhouse gases produced prior to the introduction of any strategies to reduce emissions. They are the reference point against which emissions reduction can be measured. Reported in line with PPN 06/21.
| Emissions scope | Category | Source | tCO2e (2026) |
|---|---|---|---|
| Scope 1 | Direct fuel combustion, company vehicles, fugitive emissions | Direct. None identified | 0 |
| Scope 2 (location-based) | Purchased electricity, heating and cooling | Indirect. No direct electricity contracts identified | 0 |
| Scope 3 | Relevant value chain emissions | Indirect | 6.85 |
| Total emissions (location / market-based) | 6.85 | ||
Scope 3 assessment
As a newly established organisation with a predominantly remote workforce and limited direct operational activity, Oranda Therapeutics has undertaken a proportionate assessment of Scope 3 emissions sources relevant to its current operating model. This baseline focuses on the most material emission sources currently identifiable and establishes a framework for improved data collection and reporting as the business grows.
Pharmaceutical manufacturing, quality release, warehousing and distribution activities have been recognised as potentially significant future Scope 3 emission sources. These activities have not been quantified within this initial baseline due to the current absence of supplier-specific emissions data, but they have been identified as future reporting priorities.
| Scope 3 category | tCO2e (2026) |
|---|---|
| 1. Purchased goods and services | Qualitative assessment only |
| 2. Capital goods | Not material |
| 3. Fuel-related emissions | Not material |
| 4. Upstream transportation and distribution | Future reporting priority |
| 5. Waste generated in operations | Not material |
| 6. Business travel | 5.8 |
| 7. Employee commuting | 0.15 (estimated, remote-first model) |
| 8. Homeworking | 0.9 |
| 9. Upstream leased assets | Not material |
| 10. Downstream transportation and distribution | Future reporting priority |
| 11. End-of-life treatment of sold products | Future reporting priority |

Declaration and sign off
This Carbon Reduction Plan has been prepared in accordance with PPN 06/21 and current Carbon Reduction Plan guidance, as applicable to NHS procurement requirements.
Emissions have been reported and recorded in accordance with the published reporting standard for Carbon Reduction Plans and the GHG Reporting Protocol corporate standard, and use the appropriate Government emission conversion factors for greenhouse gas company reporting.
Scope 1 and Scope 2 emissions have been reported in accordance with SECR requirements, and the required subset of Scope 3 emissions have been reported in accordance with the published reporting standard for Carbon Reduction Plans and the Corporate Value Chain (Scope 3) Standard.
This Carbon Reduction Plan has been reviewed and signed off by the board of directors (or equivalent management body) and came into effect on 14th July 2026.
Reporting methodology
Greenhouse gas emissions have been calculated in accordance with the UK Government Environmental Reporting Guidelines and the Greenhouse Gas (GHG) Protocol Corporate Accounting and Reporting Standard. Emissions factors have been sourced from the UK Government Greenhouse Gas Reporting Conversion Factors for Company Reporting (2026 edition or latest available at the time of reporting).
As a newly established organisation operating with a small, predominantly remote workforce and limited operational activity, Oranda Therapeutics has adopted a proportionate approach to emissions reporting. Where actual activity data was not available, reasonable assumptions and estimation methodologies have been applied based on the organisation’s operating model, workforce profile and known business activities.
The organisational boundary has been established using an operational control approach. Scope 1, Scope 2 and relevant Scope 3 emission sources have been assessed in line with the GHG Protocol. Due to the absence of owned vehicles, combustion equipment or dedicated office facilities, no Scope 1 or Scope 2 emissions were identified within the reporting boundary.
Relevant Scope 3 emission categories were identified with reference to the GHG Protocol Corporate Value Chain (Scope 3) Standard. Emissions associated with employee homeworking, employee commuting, business travel and shared workspace occupancy were assessed using activity-based estimates and government conversion factors where appropriate. Scope 3 categories not currently considered material to Oranda’s operations have been qualitatively assessed and will be reviewed annually as the business grows.
Given Oranda’s early stage of operational development, limited direct UK activity and the absence of a full year of measured activity data, this initial Carbon Reduction Plan uses calendar year 2026 as the first meaningful operational baseline. The reporting boundary covers UK operations only. Wider European and group-level reporting boundaries will be considered as Oranda’s operations mature.
This Carbon Reduction Plan establishes Oranda’s initial emissions baseline and provides a framework for improving data quality and reporting coverage over time. As operational activity develops, future inventories will transition from estimated data towards actual measured activity data wherever practicable.
Key assumptions
As Oranda Therapeutics is a newly established organisation and has not yet completed a full reporting year, certain greenhouse gas emissions have been estimated using reasonable assumptions based on the organisation's current operating model. The following assumptions have been applied:
| Area | Assumption |
|---|---|
| Workforce | UK-related activity currently comprises a small remote-working team, including UK-based leadership and employee activity and contractor support. The UK affiliate currently has limited direct operational activity, with wider employees and contractors engaged through the Irish parent company. |
| Working model | Predominantly remote. Homeworking emissions have been estimated using a 1.5 full-time equivalent assumption to reflect UK-related activity undertaken by UK-based personnel and contractor support during the 2026 initial reporting period. |
| Coworking | Occasional use. |
| Vehicles | No company vehicles. |
| Offices | No UK dedicated leased office. |
| Commuting | Employee commuting emissions have been estimated using a conservative assumption of limited commuting activity associated with Oranda's predominantly remote operating model. Homeworking emissions have been estimated using recognised UK homeworking emission factors and reflect the company's current remote-first approach. |
| Business travel | Estimated at 5.8 tCO2e for the 2026 initial reporting period. This estimate is based on anticipated UK-related business travel by the UK-based director, including quarterly travel to Ireland for board meetings, European business travel and one annual long-haul conference. |
| UK assets | Oranda does not directly own or lease UK office, warehouse, laboratory, manufacturing or distribution assets. UK product storage, if required, is expected to be managed by third-party logistics partners. |
| Supply chain, manufacturing and logistics | Emissions associated with third-party manufacturing, quality release, warehousing and distribution have been assessed qualitatively in this initial baseline and identified as future Scope 3 reporting priorities, pending availability of supplier-specific emissions data. |
